Overview
Skuntank itself is not particularly hard on paper. It has good, but not great, defense, and should go down fast in theory. The problem is the fact that the combination of Dark and Poison Types leaves only one weakness to exploit: Ground. Ground is a hard to manage type, as it's loaded with weak moves and comparatively low power. As a result, many players neglect Ground Type, and won't have a team that can effectively take on Skuntank.
That said; if you have a Ground crew ready to bury it, Skuntank is not hard at all. Ground Types naturally resist most of Skuntank's best moves, and most don't carry weaknesses to any thing that it may have.
Approach
Team Composition
- Excadrill is has the highest damage, but is a bit frail and is weak to Flamethrower
- Groudon and Garchomp have nothing to fear and can basically eat the skunk for lunch with just a few.
- Other Ground attackers should just be there in case your core team doesn't quite knock it out.
Dodging Strategy
- If failing: attempt fewer dodges if timing out, more dodges if fainting out
Counters
- Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.
