Equipment
Overview
One big Russian lady with one even bigger Russian gun. Kord is a 5★ MG originally available as a map drop in the Shattered Connexion event, but can also potentially appear as a map drop in any random future event. Her firearm’s huge stature isn’t just for show, that beast can tear through your foes in mere moments.
Her skill, High Pressure Assault, allows Kord to switch between two modes: Pierce and Assault.
- Pierce Mode (default): Kord will lose some Damage and halves her AP but gain the pierce effect.
- Assault mode: Kord will boost her Damage and Accuracy but only hit one target.
If Auto-Skill is enabled, Kord will automatically switch between the modes every 3 seconds. Therefore, it is recommended to set Kord's skill to Manual Activation so that she stays in Pierce mode, as Pierce Mode is her major selling point. Being able to hit all enemies in her trajectory is an insane bonus for an MG and allows her to do AoE damage unlike anyone else. Remember Hanyang MOD III and her insane AoE damage? Kord can dish that out at the very start of a fight without waiting on initial cooldowns, as long as they don’t have mid to high Evasion.
Better yet, Kord's AoE hitboxes overlap each other - this means you won't miss an enemy who happens to be placed in between two hitboxes.

In a fight where the pierce effect won’t help? No problem, simply tap her skill to switch to Assault mode, which is still a considerable boost to her performance that puts her DPS on par with other 1st-volley MGs, such as PKP.

On top of this fantastic skill, Kord also boasts very strong stats, including a monstrous Damage stat far exceeding every other MG. She also carries a strong Armour boost on her tiles for any SG on her team.
Kord is not without her drawbacks. There are certain types of enemies she will suffer against. High Evasion enemies can be a hindrance with her low accuracy, and high Armour enemies can prove extremely hardy with her reduced AP in Pierce mode. With everything together though, Kord is nevertheless an incredibly valuable doll and should be obtained and raised by absolutely everyone.

Strengths
High Pressure Assault
Kord’s Skill allows her to switch between two distinct modes: Pierce and Assault.
In Pierce mode, she will gain the pierce effect and suffer a 30% Damage and 50% AP decrease. These drawbacks do little to offset the simple power of pierce, allowing Kord to hit every single enemy in her bullet’s trajectory in order to deal massive AoE damage, especially on packed groups of enemies.
In cases where pierce won’t be beneficial, Assault mode provides a solid 20% Damage and 20% Accuracy boost. This doesn’t sound like the largest bonus, but is quite considerable given Kord’s insane base damage, especially when it is a 0s ICD buff.
Amazing Damage
Kord packs a whopping Damage stat of 109. For comparison, M2HB, who is known for having high Damage stat, has 102 Damage. This helps contribute to Kord’s MG dominance.
Strong Tiles
From Position 4, Kord buffs any SG in Positions 6 and 9 for 15% Damage and 15% Armour. For SGs, the only really important boost is to Armour, which Kord provides aplenty.
Weaknesses
Poor Accuracy
Kord has a low base Accuracy of 22, one of the lowest in the MG category. This shouldn’t be a huge hindrance most of the time, especially if she has some accuracy buffs from HGs or SGs, but is worth considering if you know there’s going to be some highly evasive enemies to fight. Typically she will start to struggle when there are enemies above around 30 evasion, so she is better suited for lower evasion mobs.
Low Clipsize
Kord’s clip size of 9 is on the lower end for MGs, meaning she’ll have more frequent reloads than other high tier MGs. Her immense damage potential should typically make up the difference, unless she’s up against high Evasion or high Armour enemies.
Lowers own AP and Damage in Pierce Mode
By halving her AP on Pierce Mode, Kord ends up with only 97 AP if equipped with a maxed gold AP ammo. That means her Pierce potential is greatly diminished when facing high Armour enemies, such as Hydras.
Toggleable skill
Unlike C-MS, who also has toggleable modes, Kord doesn’t come with hers on Forced Manual by default. This means Commanders must manual her Skill so she doesn’t immediately switch to Assault Mode at the start of the battle. Alternatively, it also means Commanders must either toggle off Auto-Skill once she uses her Skill, or toggle it as soon as possible if they want to use her on Assault Mode.

Team Options
Kord will most benefit from buffs to her Damage, Accuracy, and Crit Rate. Luckily, the strongest SGs in the game like LTLX 7000 and S.A.T.8 buff both Damage and Accuracy. There are also plenty of strong HGs available that buff these stats.

When Kord is not being fielded with two SGs, then it matters little where she’s placed. With two SGs though, it is ideal to try and have her buff both SGs if possible, which lends her best to Position 4 or Position 1.
Another option is a special team composition known as a “Kordboat”, which typically consists of Kord, M1895 CB, another MG (typically PKP), Python, and Contender or Jill.
