Activate the skill to switch between modes:

[Offense Focused]: Every 0.1 seconds, converts own evasion into both damage and accuracy. Every -1 point of evasion is converted to +2 points of damage and +1 point of accuracy. Conversion stops when evasion is lower than 75.

[Evasion Focused]: Every 0.1 seconds, converts own damage and accuracy into evasion. Every -1 point of damage and accuracy is converted into +4 points of evasion. Conversion stops when damage is lower than 35 or accuracy is lower than 23. Stat changes from either conversion is applied after other stat modifiers, and converted stats will not disappear as a result of other modifiers expiring. After changing modes, prioritize restoring the converted stats first.

Equipment

Offensive mode

She'll want an RMR paired with #2 Processor to increase her damage output.

Defensive mode

She'll want an ITI scope over a Suppressor so she has more spare Accuracy to covert to Evasion. She'll also want an HP ammo over a Flare for the same reason.

Commanders may opt to use an X-exo over a T-exo, as AUG Para can convert 6 Damage into 24 Evasion, which is more than the Evasion difference between an X-Exoskeleton and a T-Exoskeleton, which has that penalty when max calibrated.

Overview

For us, AUGGERs, Dual Randomness brought a happy addition to the family: AUG Para. Fortunately, unlike her elder sister, AUG Para has the stats and the Skill to back up the AUG name. When in defensive mode, AUG Para can theoretically improve her rank up Evasive capabilities to the point she can almost rival RO635 Mod, while on active AUG can reach new heights for a DPS Doll, provided appropriate team support. Unfortunately, her offensive phase needs a fair amount of time to ramp up, so in battles that can ramp up significant damage if the enemies aren’t deleted fast enough, AUG Para isn’t a good option. Her offensive mode is more of a cool gimmick that can work in certain situations rather than often being a viable strat against most enemy comps Commanders will face.

Nevertheless, new and old Commanders can strongly benefit from little AUG as a strong maintank, and situationally direct DPS offtank. She will certainly make her nee-san proud.

Damaged

Strengths

Decent Damage stat

At 29 base Damage, little AUG sits near Vector (30 damage) and SR-3MP (31 Damage), two offtanks known for their rather high Damage stat.

High Evasion

At 83 Evasion, little AUG is among one of the highly Evasive SMGs, like JS 9 and near MP5 with her Exo SPEQ (little AUG has 115 with a fully levelled T-exo while MP5 with her SPEQ has 126)

Cute kouhai

She’s a hardworking, eager kouhai that loves pets. If AUG is the ideal wife, she is the ideal little sister. She also thinks she’s human, due to a bug on her neural cloud, which makes her extra cuter.

Defensive mode

Fortunately, unlike her offensive mode, her defensive mode ramping-up doesn’t take a considerable amount of time, which means that AUG gets her Evasion to a respectable value in the same window as a typical late maintanks Skill ICD: around 6 seconds. It also helps that she already starts off with a decently high Evasion due to her high Evasion stat.

Weaknesses

Offensive mode requires ramp up

To fully make use of her offensive mode, she requires a ramp-up window. In battles that cannot be tanked, little AUG may end up not having enough time to dispatch the enemies without the team taking significant damage.

Full Analysis

AUG Para is a 5 star SMG whose weapon is a 9mm Parabellum variant of the standard AUG, the 5 star AR that we have and that is a niche RoF AR. Unlike her elder sister, little AUG, as she’ll be called from now henceforth, is an SMG that can switch between two archetypes: a maintank SMG, whose role is tanking enemy shots and has a defensive skill that helps with that (her defensive mode), and a direct DPS offtank SMG, like Shrimp and Honey Badger, which has an offensive skill to increase her DPS (her offensive mode).

Little AUG’s Skill can be broken down into two parts:

  • Defensive mode: She will convert every 1 Damage and 1 Accuracy points into 4 Evasion points, until her Damage reaches 35 or her Accuracy reaches 23
  • Offensive mode: She will convert every 1 Evasion point into 2 Damage and 1 Accuracy points, until her Evasion reaches 75

Looking at this, she is an SMG that, on her defensive mode, will make the most of her skill by equipping an ITI scope rather than a Suppressor, and will want an HP ammo over a Flare, as that’ll give her more Damage stats to convert into Evasion. Meanwhile, when she is on offensive mode she will want an ITI to give her Accuracy or a VFL to give her Crit Rate, and an AR chip instead of a X-Exo.

During her defensive mode, due to the multitude of AR tile buffs, possible HGs Skill buffs and Fairy aura buffs, it’s not hard to get little AUG to reach over 200-250 Evasion (when her SMG companies would sit at the 130-180 range), which makes her well suited to tanking against enemies that don’t have sure-hit attacks or extremely high Accuracy, like Hydras. Because her Damage-Accuracy to Evasion is on a 1:4 conversion ratio, she quickly builds up Evasion on par with 6s ICD maintank SMGs, if not higher.

So, the big question is: how worthwhile is her offensive mode?

The answer can be found in these Gifs:

Do note that, to reach this absurd amount of DPS, a quasi-little AUG exodia was built:

While RO Mom fills the traditional role of a maintank, and UMP40 can act as a sort of secondary maintank, Dorothy and P7 are there exclusively to push little AUG’s Evasion to new heights at the start of the battle, so she can convert them into Damage and Accuracy stats without issues.

While her multiplier stops at x99, it is merely a visual limitation, as her Skill does not have a ceiling. Also note that, for absolutely no reason, you should swap her modes during battle, since she is almost always going to be built either for defence or for offence.

Pairing this unconventional team with a Varz-err, a Shield Fairy, at 5 star means that little AUG starts the battle with roughly 360 Evasion. Because of her offensive mode, she doesn’t need a PEQ at night, as she gets flat Accuracy buffs and the penalty is already applied before the battle starts.

Notice that for her to reach over 200 Damage to really start puncturing through Armor she needs at least 10 seconds and, depending on the enemy Armor and HP pool, her ramp up window can be shorter or longer. In gif 2 where she fights KCCO Cerynitis possible to see that she takes roughly 10 seconds to start melting the enemy units. Meanwhile in gif 3, against Manticores and SWAP Nemeums, she only really starts melting the enemies after the 15 seconds window, because she also loses buffers in the process.

It’s why this team is ill-suited for battles that can significantly damage the echelon in a short amount of time (SWAP Nemeums hit hard after all). Meanwhile, in battles that can be tanked, like gifs 1 and 2, little AUG has enough leeway to safely ramp up her damage.

Credit to xVarz for being such a good support to little AUG

So, after all that was said, is AUGParaxodia worth it?

Hardly

There hardly is any situation where an AUGPxodia will outdo a specialized team. Against Striders, two Striders can easily be killed with an RFHG with sure-hit RFs, like M200, while a decent RFHG with Type 88 Mod would easily have melted the Nemeum+Manticore comp without having the team be as heavily damaged as AUGPxodia team was. Lastly, any decent RFHG would have taken care of the Cerynitis enemy comp without much issue, even more, if the RFHG happened to have RO Mom.

While AUGPxodia shows little AUG’s tremendous potential as a DPS unit, it’s far more a gimmick showcase than a generalist, or even specialized team Commanders should be bringing. It requires a very niche SMG (UMP40), an HG no on uses (P7) and sacrifices in early DPS when some newer content fights absolutely need it (like fights against Minotaurs+Ceranytis).

Team Options

For her offensive mode, Commanders can opt to make her quasi-xodia for fun. Outside of that, it’s recommended to pair her up with Evasion tile ARs, and RO Mom. Do not use little AUG with UMP40 or Dorothy, as little AUG’s Evasion can dip down to Thompson’s levels, which means she’ll quickly eat up bullets if left as the one tanking bullets.

For her defensive mode, Commanders can simply pair her up with any AR, preferably ones with Damage and Accuracy tiles as that’ll give her more stats to convert into Evasion. She can comfortably sit on Position 5 or 8 when used on her defensive mode.

It’s highly recommended to use her as a defensive SMG. While her offensive mode has a theoretical high ceiling, more often than not she’ll be ill-suited to act as the main DPS in most battles.

History/Trivia

The Steyr AUG Para also known as the AUG SMG or AUG 9mm, is a submachine gun variant of the AUG chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum cartridge and has been produced since 1988.

Casual and easy-going, an abnormality with her interior memory means that she doesn't see herself as a Doll, but as a human staffer who's come to help out at Griffin. She's curious about and cherishes the other Dolls.
