Equipment
The standard loadout for main tank SMG T-Dolls. The T4 exoskeleton and suppressor improve her evasion, while the hollow point ammo is optional but can still be equipped if the commander has spares, for a minor improvement in damage dealt with no drawbacks.
Overview
100 Shiki, also known as Type 100, is the Japanese GFL server’s favorite T-Doll by far. When the JP server released their first anniversary statistics, 100 Shiki was revealed to be the most used adjutant, echelon leader, support, and team member. It was so much of a landslide that the entire infographic opted to show chibi versions for the 2nd place T-Dolls for variety.
100 Shiki’s statistical accomplishments do not, however, imply similarly superlative gameplay value. With an unusual hybrid shield/buff skill that activates very late, compounded with her low base Evasion, Type 100 is more fragile in practice than many of her 5* contemporaries. Players planning their echelons strictly around in-game performance would most likely find more value from other SMG main tank T-Dolls.

Strengths
High HP
-
100 Shiki has a very high HP pool for SMGs, at 1060 total or 212 per dummy link, allowing her to survive an extra hit per dummy link against hard-hitting enemy bosses compared to SMGs with lower per-dummy health.
Weaknesses
Long Skill Initial Cooldown
-
The initial 8 second cooldown of Cherry Blossom's Reflection is substantially longer than most other maintank SMG skills. As such, it will generally only activate after a significant number of hits have already been taken, and make no difference in fights that end before 8 seconds.
Underwhelming Skill Effect
-
100 Shiki granting herself a 42 HP shield for 5 seconds after an 8 second initial cooldown may seem like a passable skill at first glance, but its poor relative performance becomes apparent when considering that a different 8s cooldown skill, Force Shield, confers full invincibility to its user for 4 seconds.
-
The supplementary effect, a conditional evasion/damage buff based on whether the shield has been broken, is fairly ineffective and often activates far too late to significantly alter the battle outcome.
Full Analysis
100 Shiki has a relatively high HP value at 1060, although her below-average Evasion stat of 67 somewhat hinders her effective tankiness in typical encounters. Her tile buff of 12% Damage and 35% Accuracy is decent and provides two useful stats that increase the damage output of backline ARs. However, the lack of tile buff coverage directly behind 100 Shiki means that the center AR in 3AR formations will miss out on the small stat boost.
100 Shiki’s main shortcoming lies with her skill: with an initial cooldown at 8 seconds, Cherry Blossom's Reflection tends to not activate in time for most fights. Even if 8 seconds elapse and the skill takes effect, a 42 HP shield is unlikely to substantially change the outcome of the battle, as 100 Shiki would likely have taken far more than 42 damage over the previous 8 seconds.
Depending on whether the shield is broken by enemy fire or expires naturally, 100 Shiki gains a 65% Evasion boost or an 85% Damage boost, respectively. The Evasion boost therefore has an effective activation time of anywhere between 8 seconds and 13 seconds, much longer than the initial cooldown of 5 seconds offered by dedicated evasion-buffing SMGs such as Suomi and MP7, whose skills also tend to have much higher Evasion multipliers.
The Damage boost, on the other hand, is generally ineffective due to 100 Shiki’s low base DPS, and equipping her with DPS gear is ill-advised as it will reduce her Evasion and increase damage taken per fight, entirely cancelling out the effect of boosting her damage in the first place.
Due to the above reasons, 100 Shiki’s unique skill will not tend to have a significant effect on battles, although her high base HP and decent tile buff still allows her to perform the main tank SMG’s role of tanking incoming fire while providing some tile buffs to the backline DPS ARs.
If survivability ever becomes a challenge due to 100 Shiki’s aforementioned weaknesses, the commander can likely find a main tank upgrade in SMGs with more fast-acting and effective skills such as Smoke Grenade, Flashbang, or Cover Focus.

Team Options
Offtank SMG
Since 100 Shiki is a main tank, pairing her with an offensive SMG to serve as an offtank is highly recommended. The standard picks of an AoE grenadier like Vector, Skorpion, PPS-43 and other similar SMG T-Dolls will work just fine.
DPS AR
As with all main tank SMGs, 100 Shiki’s best backline AR partners are DPS units who can deal considerable damage and reduce the number of hits she has to take. Any good damage dealers who can also provide 100 Shiki with Evasion tile buffs will further improve her effective survivability, so the standard recommendations of ST AR-15, G41, and Zas M21 work well here.
HG
As 100 Shiki’s tile buffs do not affect the tile directly behind her, there is a lower opportunity cost associated with using a HG instead of AR in position 4.
Depending on the DPS ARs and their skills, Damage boosting HGs such as Grizzly/SAA or Rate of Fire boosting HGs like Stechkin/Five-SeveN can be used, as long as they are situationally appropriate and are not overbuffing Rate of Fire over the cap.
MDR
Note: Requires advanced unit control and team-building experience.
For commanders who absolutely must use 100 Shiki as the main tank no matter what and want to maximize her survivability for some reason, MDR’s unique skill, Danger Sniffer, can provide a powerful shield and Evasion boost to 100 Shiki (or any other unit) if she is partially overlapping the 1x1 space in front of MDR on activation.
Some practice should allow an experienced commander to provide MDR’s shield to both the offtank and maintank (in this case, 100 Shiki) while keeping MDR at 7, compensating for the longer initial cooldown of Cherry Blossom's Reflection.
In this team, as MDR’s skill will no longer be boosting her own damage output, the echelon’s other damage-dealing unit(s) must be strong enough to pick up the slack and end the fight in a manageable timespan.

AR |
100 Shiki’s statline, skill, and tile layout all fit the main tank role. Therefore, she is optimally placed at position 5.
As 100 Shiki’s tile buff does not reach directly behind her, if the commander were to run a 3 AR team, the center AR would not receive the tile buff. On the other hand, this drawback does not apply to 2AR 1HG backlines, where 100 Shiki’s decent buff tiles can cover both AR DPS units.

History/Trivia
The Type 100 submachine gun (一〇〇式機関短銃 Hyaku-shiki kikan-tanjū) was a Japanese submachine gun used during World War II, and the only submachine gun produced by Japan in any quantity. It was made in two basic variants referred to by American and British observers as the Type 100/40 and the Type 100/44, the latter also known as the Type 100 (Simplified).
