An abandoned child found by magical scholars of Witchaven, Kawerik enlisted in the Enhanced Magic Division and made important contributions in the Archdemon War that Diene took part in. However, the side effects of the experiment have left him suffering from paralysis that is slowly killing him and have turned him into a cold-blooded contract killer.

Disruptor DPS

Since Kawerik has a strong potential as a disruptor/DPS, let's examine how we can gear him to be effective at such a role.

Gears

Since we want him to be fast, speed boots is mandatory. ATK% ring will boost his damage, and a Crit Chance neck can let players reliably increase his DPS while giving players room to fill out his substats with those that compliment it.

In this scenario, he would definitely run a speed set and anything to supplement his other stats, be it Critical, Hit, or Immunity. Even an off set is fine should the stats provided be good enough.

Artifacts

While SmileGate was touting Kawerik as a strong disruptor to be built with high Effectiveness and to be supported by his artifact, Black Hand of the Goddess, I think it is much more efficient to reverse that mindset. Build him with enough Crit and damage, then run Bloody Rose. Since all of his debuffs come from single target attacks, he is a prime user of this artifact.

Other options to consider are:

Tagehel's Ancient Book - A top tier pick for any mage in PvP. Taking a maxed copy of this means Kawerik can ignore the resist of any hero he targets and delay their cooldown. This also let Kawerik support his team and let them reach their full potential.

Portrait of the Savior / Tonfas / Kal'adra - are good options for Kawerik for players who plan to take advantage of his defense penetration mechanic and use him as a cleaver.

Chatty - Can be used to supplement Kawerik's survivability, since that is his biggest weakness.

Analysis

Overview

The long awaited edge lord of book 2 finally makes his appearance, Kawerik. Kawerik is a 5* Fire Mage with a star sign of Virgo. Kawerik comes off as a very potent combat hero with a skill kit that not only scales decently with attack and speed, but also brings a bit of disruption via cooldown reset and silence. In the right teams, Kawerik has the right kit to have a similar impact to someone such as Assassin Cidd.

Strengths

Great Offensive Base Stats

With an awakening of 1306 attack and 23% crit chance, Kawerik can be built relatively easily to be a strong damage dealer.

Natural Basar Counter

As of Kawerik's release, Basar is still the premier initiator and an ever-looming threat against many teams. Kawerik's base speed advantage (11) and ability to push back skill cooldown makes him a prime candidate to be built as a basar counter to outspeed and punish Basar. This mean he can naturally counter heroes such as Kluri and Lilias.

Strong Off Turn

As opposed to some other heroes in his roles (speed DPS), someone like Pavel, Kawerik's off-turns can be quite powerful as his S1 can silence at a 75% chance, a debuff that is extremely powerful against supports and healers.

Weaknesses

Low Defensive Stats

As mages tend to be, Kawerik is quite squishy due to his base stats. Which means if he is caught without any defenses, he will probably die in most PvP situations.

Lack of Extra Turn

Since Kawerik relies much on his combo of S2->S3, it would've been extremely beneficial for him if he had an extra turn soul burn like Pavel. But he doesn't, which means he will be heavily team reliant on achieving his full potential since it will be tough for him to survive on his own.

Tough Matchup Against Soul Weavers

Since he is built to be a speedy DPS with a bit of eff%, Kawerik will have a tougher time stopping high defense, high resistance Soul Weaver in higher echelons of PvP. Since his damage won't likely be a major threat, and he won't have enough effectiveness to persistently silence those Soul Weavers.
